■ 시편 144장
1. 다윗의 시 나의 반석 여호와를 찬송하리로다 저가 내 손을 가르쳐 싸우게 하시며 손가락을 가르쳐 치게 하시도다
A Psalm of David . Blessed be the Lord my strength , which teacheth my hands to war , and my fingers to fight :
2. 여호와는 나의 인자시요 나의 요새시요 나의 산성이시요 나를 건지는 자시요 나의 방패시요 나의 피난처시요 내 백성을 내게 복종케 하시는 자시로다
My goodness , and my fortress ; my high tower , and my deliverer ; my shield , and he in whom I trust ; who subdueth my people under me.
3. 여호와여 사람이 무엇이관대 주께서 저를 알아주시며 인생이 무엇이관대 주께서 저를 생각하시나이까
Lord , what is man , that thou takest knowledge of him! or the son of man , that thou makest account of him!
4. 사람은 헛것 같고 그의 날은 지나가는 그림자 같으니이다
Man is like to vanity : his days are as a shadow that passeth away .
5. 여호와여 주의 하늘을 드리우고 강림하시며 산들에 접촉하사 연기가 발하게 하소서
Bow thy heavens , O Lord , and come down : touch the mountains , and they shall smoke .
6. 번개를 번득이사 대적을 흩으시며 주의 살을 발하사 저희를 파하소서
Cast forth lightning , and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows , and destroy them.
7. 위에서부터 주의 손을 펴사 나를 큰 물과 이방인의 손에서 구하여 건지소서
Send thine hand from above ; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters , from the hand of strange children ;
8. 저희 입은 궤사를 말하며 그 오른손은 거짓의 오른손이니이다
Whose mouth speaketh vanity , and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood .
9. 하나님이여 내가 주께 새 노래로 노래하며 열 줄 비파로 주를 찬양하리이다
I will sing a new song unto thee, O God : upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
10. 주는 왕들에게 구원을 베푸시는 자시요 종 다윗을 그 해하는 칼에서 구하시는 자시니이다
It is he that giveth salvation unto kings : who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword .
11. 이방인의 손에서 나를 구하여 건지소서 저희 입은 궤사를 말하며 그 오른손은 거짓의 오른손이니이다
Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children , whose mouth speaketh vanity , and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood :
12. 우리 아들들은 어리다가 장성한 나무 같으며 우리 딸들은 궁전의 식양대로 아름답게 다듬은 모퉁이 돌과 같으며
That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth ; that our daughters may be as corner stones , polished after the similitude of a palace :
13. 우리의 곳간에는 백곡이 가득하며 우리의 양은 들에서 천천과 만만으로 번성하며
That our garners may be full , affording all manner of store : that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets :
14. 우리 수소는 무겁게 실었으며 또 우리를 침로하는 일이나 우리가 나아가 막는 일이 없으며 우리 거리에는 슬피 부르짖음이 없을진대
That our oxen may be strong to labour ; that there be no breaking in , nor going out ; that there be no complaining in our streets .
15. 이러한 백성은 복이 있나니 여호와를 자기 하나님으로 삼는 백성은 복이 있도다
Happy is that people , that is in such a case : yea, happy is that people , whose God is the Lord .

【시144:1 JFB】시144:1-15. David's praise of God as his all-sufficient help is enhanced by a recognition of the intrinsic worthlessness of man. Confidently imploring God's interposition against his enemies, he breaks forth into praise and joyful anticipations of the prosperity of his kingdom, when freed from vain and wicked men.
【시144:1 CWC】Psalm 135.
Praises God for choosing Jacob (vv. 1-4), extols His power in the natural world (vv. 5-7), and in the deliverance of His people from Egypt (vv. 8, 9) and bringing them into the promised land (vv. 10-12). All this is in contrast to the vanity pf idols (vv. 13-18).
Psalm 136.
Is of the same character as the preceding, but is notable for the chorus attached to each verse -- a chorus with which we have become familiar in other psalms (106:1; 118:1-4), and which may have been used by the people somewhat like the "Amen."
Psalm 137.
Is plainly identified as to its period and design.
Psalm 139.
Is perhaps the most sublime declaration of the omnipresence of God found in the Holy Scriptures. In the light of that attribute the Psalmist is willing to submit himself to the closest scrutinizing (v. 23), and for the reason indicated at the close. Who will follow in his train?
We have now reached another group of David's psalms (138-140) whose structure and style are like some of the earlier ones -- complaint, prayer, hope, praise.
Psalm 142.
Is unique in the historical note attached to it. The "cave" spoken of may have been Adullam (삼상22:1), or Engedi (삼상24:3), but it is not necessary to believe that the psalm was composed while David was in the cave. It may have been written later when his experience in the cave furnished a good illustration of his present need and an argument for his relief.
Psalms 147-150.
Are thought to especially celebrate the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and correspond to the conditions in 느6:16; 12:27 and other places, although their millennial application is not far to seek.
The last psalm is a fitting close to the book, "reciting the place, theme, mode and extent of Jehovah's exalted praise."
【시144:1 MHCC】When men become eminent for things as to which they have had few advantages, they should be more deeply sensible that God has been their Teacher. Happy those to whom the Lord gives that noblest victory, conquest and dominion over their own spirits. A prayer for further mercy is fitly begun with a thanksgiving for former mercy. There was a special power of God, inclining the people of Israel to be subject to David; it was typical of the bringing souls into subjection to the Lord Jesus. Man's days have little substance, considering how many thoughts and cares of a never-dying soul are employed about a poor dying body. Man's life is as a shadow that passes away. In their highest earthly exaltation, believers will recollect how mean, sinful, and vile they are in themselves; thus they will be preserved from self-importance and presumption. God's time to help his people is, when they are sinking, and all other helps fail.
【시144:9 MHCC】Fresh favours call for fresh returns of thanks; we must praise God for the mercies we hope for by his promise, as well as those we have received by his providence. To be saved from the hurtful sword, or from wasting sickness, without deliverance from the dominion of sin and the wrath to come, is but a small advantage. The public prosperity David desired for his people, is stated. It adds much to the comfort and happiness of parents in this world, to see their children likely to do well. To see them as plants, not as weeds, not as thorns; to see them as plants growing, not withered and blasted; to see them likely to bring forth fruit unto God in their day; to see them in their youth growing strong in the Spirit. Plenty is to be desired, that we may be thankful to God, generous to our friends, and charitable to the poor; otherwise, what profit is it to have our garners full? Also, uninterrupted peace. War brings abundance of mischiefs, whether it be to attack others or to defend ourselves. And in proportion as we do not adhere to the worship and service of God, we cease to be a happy people. The subjects of the Saviour, the Son of David, share the blessings of his authority and victories, and are happy because they have the Lord for their God.
