■ 시편 121장
1. 성전에 올라가는 노래 내가 산을 향하여 눈을 들리라 나의 도움이 어디서 올꼬
A Song of degrees . I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills , from whence cometh my help .
2. 나의 도움이 천지를 지으신 여호와에게서로다
My help cometh from the Lord , which made heaven and earth .
3. 여호와께서 너로 실족지 않게 하시며 너를 지키시는 자가 졸지 아니하시리로다
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved : he that keepeth thee will not slumber .
4. 이스라엘을 지키시는 자는 졸지도 아니하고 주무시지도 아니하시리로다
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep .
5. 여호와는 너를 지키시는 자라 여호와께서 네 우편에서 네 그늘이 되시나니
The Lord is thy keeper : the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand .
6. 낮의 해가 너를 상치 아니하며 밤의 달도 너를 해치 아니하리로다
The sun shall not smite thee by day , nor the moon by night .
7. 여호와께 너를 지켜 모든 환난을 면케 하시며 또 네 영혼을 지키시리로다
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil : he shall preserve thy soul .
8. 여호와께서 너의 출입을 지금부터 영원까지 지키시리로다
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore .

【시121:1 JFB】시121:1-8. God's guardian care of His people celebrated.
1. I will lift up mine eyes—expresses desire (compare 시25:1), mingled with expectation. The last clause, read as a question, is answered,
【시121:1 CWC】This group is differentiated by the title attached to each, "A Song of Degrees," or "A Song of Ascents." The title seems derived from the going up of the people to Jerusalem at the great festivals which came three times a year. (Compare 신16:16; 왕상12:27, 28, etc.); the thought being that they chanted the psalms at different stages in their journey.
The pertinency of this application of these psalms is more apparent in some than others. For example. Psalm 121 represents the pilgrim looking towards the goal of his journey, and inspired by its contemplation to apply the thought of the strength of its hills to the care of God for His people, and especially His care for them on their journey, by night or day (vv. 3-6). The spiritual application is easily suggestive. Psalms 124, 126, 129 and 130, suggest the Babylonian captivity. Psalm 134 represents the companies arriving at the sanctuary and calling on the priests to unite in praising God on their behalf, to which the priests reply in the language of the Mosaic blessing which they only could pronounce (v. 3).
Of the whole group Psalm 132 is the most important in some respects. May Solomon have been its author? It opens with a declaration of his father David's zeal for the building of the temple (vv. 1-7). "Ephratah" (v. 6) is another name for Bethlehem (창48:7). "The fields of the wood" stands for "Jair" or "Kirjath-jearim" whence the ark was brought up by David to Jerusalem. The psalm next pleads with God for fulfillment of His promises to David concerning the temple (vv. 8-18). The Solomonic application is clear in verses 10-12, and yet, it has a typical reference to the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ.
【시121:1 MHCC】The safety of the godly.
—We must not rely upon men and means, instruments and second causes. Shall I depend upon the strength of the hills? upon princes and great men? No; my confidence is in God only. Or, we must lift up our eyes above the hills; we must look to God who makes all earthly things to us what they are. We must see all our help in God; from him we must expect it, in his own way and time. This psalm teaches us to comfort ourselves in the Lord, when difficulties and dangers are greatest. It is almighty wisdom that contrives, and almighty power that works the safety of those that put themselves under God's protection. He is a wakeful, watchful Keeper; he is never weary; he not only does not sleep, but he does not so much as slumber. Under this shade they may sit with delight and assurance. He is always near his people for their protection and refreshment. The right hand is the working hand; let them but turn to their duty, and they shall find God ready to give them success. He will take care that his people shall not fall. Thou shalt not be hurt, neither by the open assaults, nor by the secret attempts of thine enemies. The Lord shall prevent the evil thou fearest, and sanctify, remove, or lighten the evil thou feelest. He will preserve the soul, that it be not defiled by sin, and disturbed by affliction; he will preserve it from perishing eternally. He will keep thee in life and death; going out to thy labour in the morning of thy days, and coming home to thy rest when the evening of old age calls thee in. It is a protection for life. The Spirit, who is their Preserver and Comforter, shall abide with them for ever. Let us be found in our work, assured that the blessings promised in this psalm are ours.
