1. 다윗이 가로되 이는 여호와 하나님의 전이요 이는 이스라엘의 번제단이라 하였더라
Then David said , This is the house of the Lord God , and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel .
2. 다윗이 명하여 이스라엘 땅에 우거하는 이방 사람을 모으고 석수를 시켜 하나님의 전을 건축할 돌을 다듬게 하고
And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel ; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God .
3. 다윗이 또 문짝못과 거멀못에 쓸 철을 한 없이 준비하고 또 심히 많아서 중수를 셀 수 없는 놋을 준비하고
And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates , and for the joinings ; and brass in abundance without weight ;
4. 또 백향목을 무수히 준비하였으니 이는 시돈 사람과 두로 사람이 백향목을 다윗에게로 많이 수운하여 왔음이라
Also cedar trees in abundance : for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David .
5. 다윗이 가로되 내 아들 솔로몬이 어리고 연약하고 여호와를 위하여 건축할 전은 극히 장려하여 만국에 명성과 영광이 있게 하여야 할지라 그러므로 내가 이제 위하여 준비하리라 하고 죽기 전에 많이 준비하였더라
And David said , Solomon my son is young and tender , and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical , of fame and of glory throughout all countries : I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death .

Then he called for Solomon his son , and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel .
7. 이르되 내 아들아 나는 내 하나님 여호와의 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할 마음이 있었으나
And David said to Solomon , My son , as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God :
8. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 이르시되 너는 피를 심히 많이 흘렸고 크게 전쟁하였느니라 네가 내 앞에서 땅에 피를 많이 흘렸은즉 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축하지 못하리라
But the word of the Lord came to me, saying , Thou hast shed blood abundantly , and hast made great wars : thou shalt not build an house unto my name , because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight .
9. 한 아들이 네게서 나리니 저는 평강의 사람이라 내가 저로 사면 모든 대적에게서 평강하게 하리라 그 이름을 솔로몬이라 하리니 이는 내가 저의 생전에 평안과 안정을 이스라엘에게 줄 것임이니라
Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest ; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about : for his name shall be Solomon , and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days .
10. 저가 내 이름을 위하여 전을 건축할지라 저는 내 아들이 되고 나는 저의 아비가 되어 그 나라 위를 이스라엘 위에 굳게 세워 영원까지 이르게 하리라 하셨나니
He shall build an house for my name ; and he shall be my son , and I will be his father ; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever .
11. 내 아들아 여호와께서 너와 함께 하시기를 원하며 네가 형통하여 여호와께서 네게 대하여 말씀하신 대로 여호와의 전을 건축하며
Now, my son , the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God , as he hath said of thee.
12. 여호와께서 네게 지혜와 총명을 주사 너로 이스라엘을 다스리게 하시고 너의 하나님 여호와의 율법을 지키게 하시기를 더욱 원하노라
Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding , and give thee charge concerning Israel , that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God .
13. 네가 만일 여호와께서 모세로 이스라엘에게 명하신 모든 율례와 규례를 삼가 행하면 형통하리니 강하고 담대하여 두려워 말고 놀라지 말지어다
Then shalt thou prosper , if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel : be strong , and of good courage ; dread not, nor be dismayed .
14. 내가 환난 중에 여호와의 전을 위하여 금 십만 달란트와 은 일백만 달란트와 놋과 철을 그 중수를 셀 수 없을만큼 심히 많이 예비하였고 또 재목과 돌을 예비하였으나 너는 더할 것이며
Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold , and a thousand thousand talents of silver ; and of brass and iron without weight ; for it is in abundance : timber also and stone have I prepared ; and thou mayest add thereto.
15. 또 공장이 네게 많이 있나니 곧 석수와 목수와 온갖 일에 익숙한 모든 사람이니라
Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance , hewers and workers of stone and timber , and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work .
16. 금과 은과 놋과 철이 무수하니 너는 일어나 일하라 여호와께서 너와 함께 계실지로다
Of the gold , the silver , and the brass , and the iron , there is no number . Arise therefore, and be doing , and the Lord be with thee.
17. 다윗이 또 이스라엘 모든 방백에게 명하여 그 아들 솔로몬을 도우라 하여 가로되
David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son , saying,
18. 너희 하나님 여호와께서 너희와 함께하지 아니하시느냐 사면으로 너희에게 평강을 주지 아니하셨느냐 이 땅 거민을 내 손에 붙이사 이 땅으로 여호와와 그 백성 앞에 복종하게 하셨나니
Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side ? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand ; and the land is subdued before the Lord , and before his people .
19. 이제 너희는 마음과 정신을 진정하여 너희 하나님 여호와를 구하고 일어나서 여호와 하나님의 성소를 건축하고 여호와의 언약궤와 하나님의 거룩한 기구를 가져다가 여호와의 이름을 위하여 건축한 전에 드리게 하라 하였더라
Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God ; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God , to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord , and the holy vessels of God , into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord .

【대상22:1 JFB】대상22:1-5. David Prepares for Building the Temple.
1. David said, This is the home of the Lord God—By the miraculous sign of fire from heaven, and perhaps other intimations, David understood it to be the will of God that the national place of worship should be fixed there, and he forthwith proceeded to make preparations for the erection of the temple on that spot.

1. The Downfall of Saul, c. 10.
In reading this chapter with whose general contents we became familiar in 1 Samuel 31, it is important to note the inspired comment at its close (vv.
13, 14).
2. David's Heroes, cc. 11, 12.
In the history of David in this book, the writer dwells chiefly on its prosperous side, passing over the rest as lightly as possible. His anointing at Hebron (vv. 1-3), reveals nothing of what we learned earlier of the rival kingdom of the house of Saul, and the seven years before his exaltation over all Israel. Again, in the list of warriors (11:10-47), there is an omission of Joab's treachery and barbarous conduct in the cases of Abner, Uriah and Absalom.
Chapter 12 contains a supplemental list of braves who attached themselves to David earlier, and during the days of Saul, and of whom we have no record until now.
3. David's Victories and Festivals, cc. 13-16.
These begin with the bringing up of the ark as far as the house of Obed-edom (c. 13). Then follows the account of battles with the Philistines (c. 14), which occupies a different position from that in 2 Samuel 5, the reason for which can only be conjectured. After this the ark is brought up to Jerusalem (cc. 15, 16), the record being more detailed than in Samuel. Note, for example, the preparation and act of transfer. A tent is erected, (15:1) possibly in the vicinity of the palace, after the model of the old tabernacle. Then a consultation is held (v. 2), the representative men are assembled (v. 3), the bearers chosen (vv. 12-15), the singers appointed (vv. 16-24). Then the act itself, with its rejoicings, sacrifices and distribution of gifts (15:25-16:3). Then the initial service and the psalm of thanksgiving (vv. 4-36).
Another thus analyzes the eight strophes of this psalm: The first, summons to praise (vv. 8-11); the second, to think on the wonders and judgments of the Lord (vv. 12-14); the third, to think of the covenant made with the fathers (vv. 15-18); the fourth, gives the reasons to remember this covenant (vv. 19-22); the fifth, affirms that all the world shall concur in the greatness and glory of God (vv. 23-27); the sixth, all nations shall worship Him (vv. 28-30); the seventh, the inanimate creation will exult before Him (vv. 31-33); the eighth, closes with a repeated summons to praise and prayer (vv. 34-36).
4. David and The Temple, cc. 17-22.
Except as to its location the record in chapter 17 is in substance the same as in 2 Samuel 7. The "group of war reports," cc. 18-20, runs parallel to four sections in 2 Samuel which in that case are separated from one another by other matters. The story of the plague following the census (c. 21), contains some deviations from that in Samuel, as for example, its position in the record, the fact that the offence was instigated by Satan, that Benjamin and Levi were not numbered, and that the threshing-floor was thereafter the constant place of sacrifice by David. These things are additions and not contradictions. As to the last named, the words in verse 28, "At that time * * * he sacrificed there," have been rendered by Luther and others, "was wont to offer there," meaning that he did it repeatedly, frequently. In an earlier lesson it was stated that this threshing-floor subsequently became the site of Solomon's temple.
After the episode represented by these chapters the author returns to the subject of the temple (c. 22), speaking of David's preparation of the materials (vv. 1-5), his charge to Solomon (vv. 6-16), and finally his appeal to the princes to assist (vv. 17-19).
6. The Temple and Military Officers, cc. 23-27.
The opening comment of this section gives the reason for what follows. David was old and felt the need of putting things in readiness for his son (v. 1). There are two things that concern him chiefly, the worship of God and the strengthening of the kingdom, and it is significant that the worship of God receives attention first.
The chapters arrange themselves thus: Chapter 23 deals with the Levites, their number and classification for work; 24 does the same for the priests, except that the closing verses refer again to the Levites; 25 speaks of the singers; 26 of the porters, treasurers and other business officers; and 27 of the army, including its divisions and commanders.
7. David's Last Directions and Death, cc, 28, 29.
The last directions of David concern the building of the temple where all the princes, the captains, the courtiers and the heroes are addressed (vv. 1, 2), and Solomon in their presence is invested with power and authority as his successor (w. 5-21).
Note the words in verse 12. "And the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit." We use a capital "S" believing the Holy Spirit to be intended, and that the words should be read in the light of verse 19, "All this, the Lord made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern." Are we not to understand, difficult as the words may be, that as God revealed the original of the temple to Moses in the wilderness when He revealed the tabernacle, so now also He controlled and directed David when the time came for the actual erection of the temple?
Do not pass chapter 29 carelessly. Note David's example of giving (vv. 3-5), and the lever it affords to make an appeal to others. See the working of the Spirit of God among the people in the gladness of it all (v. 9), a fact David recognizes and for which he praises God, verse 10 and the following.
When it says "they made Solomon king the second time" (v. 22), it is in contrast with 23:1. In that case the first proclamation was made, but now the actual anointing took place. (Compare 왕상1:32 and the following verses.)

David must not build, but he would do all he could; he prepared abundantly before his death. What our hands find to do for God, and our souls, and those round us, let us do it with all our might, before our death; for after death there is no device nor working. And when the Lord refuses to employ us in those services which we desired, we must not be discouraged or idle, but do what we can, though in a humbler sphere.

6. Then he called for Solomon … and charged him—The earnestness and solemnity of this address creates an impression that it was given a little before the old king's decease. He unfolded his great and long cherished plan, enjoined the building of God's house as a sacred duty on him as his son and successor, and described the resources that were at command for carrying on the work. The vast amount of personal property he had accumulated in the precious metals [대상22:14] must have been spoil taken from the people he had conquered, and the cities he had sacked.
【대상22:6 MHCC】David gives Solomon the reason why he should build the temple. Because God named him. Nothing is more powerful to engage us in any service for God, than to know that we are appointed thereto. Because he would have leisure and opportunity to do it. He should have peace and quietness. Where God gives rest, he expects work. Because God had promised to establish his kingdom. God's gracious promises should quicken and strengthen our religious service. David delivered to Solomon an account of the vast preparations he had made for this building; not from pride and vain-glory, but to encourage Solomon to engage cheerfully in the great work. He must not think, by building the temple, to purchase a dispensation to sin; on the contrary, his doing that would not be accepted, if he did not take heed to fulfil the statutes of the Lord. In our spiritual work, as well as in our spiritual warfare, we have need of courage and resolution. (1Ch 22:17-19)
【대상22:17 MHCC】Whatever is done towards rendering the word of God generally known and attended to, is like bringing a stone, or an ingot of gold, towards erecting the temple. This should encourage us when we grieve that we do not see more fruit of our labours; much good may appear after our death, which we never thought of. Let us not then be weary of well doing. The work is in the hands of the Prince of peace. As he, the Author and Finisher of the work, is pleased to employ us as his instruments, let us arise and be doing, encouraging and helping one another; working by his rule, after his example, in dependence on his grace, assured that he will be with us, and that our labour shall not be in vain in the Lord.
