■ 누가복음 7장

1. 예수께서 모든 말씀을 백성에게 들려 주시기를 마치신 후에 가버나움으로 들어가시니라

  Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people , he entered into Capernaum .

 

2. 어떤 백부장의 사랑하는 종이 병들어 죽게 되었더니

  And a certain centurion’s servant , who was dear unto him , was sick , and ready to die .

 

3. 예수의 소문을 듣고 유대인의 장로 몇을 보내어 오셔서 그 종을 구원하시기를 청한지라

  And when he heard of Jesus , he sent unto him the elders of the Jews , beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant .

 

4. 이에 저희가 예수께 나아와 간절히 구하여 가로되 이 일을 하시는 것이 이 사람에게는 합당하니이다

  And when they came to Jesus , they besought him instantly , saying , That he was worthy for whom he should do this :

 

5. 저가 우리 민족을 사랑하고 또한 우리를 위하여 회당을 지었나이다 하니

  For he loveth our nation , and he hath built us a synagogue .

 

6. 예수께서 함께 가실새 이에 그 집이 멀지 아니하여 이 벗들을 보내어 가로되 주여 수고하시지 마옵소서 내 집에 들어오심을 나는 감당치 못하겠나이다

  Then Jesus went with them . And when he was now not far from the house , the centurion sent friends to him , saying unto him , Lord , trouble not thyself : for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof :

 

7. 그러므로 내가 주께 나아가기도 감당치 못할 줄을 알았나이다 말씀만 하사 내 하인을 낫게 하소서

  Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee : but say in a word , and my servant shall be healed .

 

8. 저도 남의 수하에 든 사람이요 제 아래에도 군병이 있으니 이더러 가라 하면 가고 저더러 오라 하면 오고 제 종더러 이것을 하라 하면 하나이다

  For I also am a man set under authority , having under me soldiers , and I say unto one , Go , and he goeth ; and to another , Come , and he cometh ; and to my servant , Do this , and he doeth it.

 

9. 예수께서 들으시고 저를 기이히 여겨 돌이키사 좇는 무리에게 이르시되 내가 너희에게 이르노니 이스라엘 중에서도 이만한 믿음은 만나지 못하였노라 하시더라

  When Jesus heard these things , he marvelled at him , and turned him about , and said unto the people that followed him , I say unto you , I have not found so great faith , no, not in Israel .

 

10. 보내었던 사람들이 집으로 돌아가 보매 종이 이미 강건하여졌더라

  And they that were sent , returning to the house , found the servant whole that had been sick .

 

11. 그 후에 예수께서 나인이란 성으로 가실새 제자와 허다한 무리가 동행하더니

  And it came to pass the day after , that he went into a city called Nain ; and many of his disciples went with him , and much people .

 

12. 성문에 가까이 오실 때에 사람들이 한 죽은 자를 메고 나오니 이는 그 어미의 독자요 어미는 과부라 그 성의 많은 사람도 그와 함께 나오거늘

  Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city , behold , there was a dead man carried out , the only son of his mother , and she was a widow : and much people of the city was with her .

 

13. 주께서 과부를 보시고 불쌍히 여기사 울지 말라 하시고

  And when the Lord saw her , he had compassion on her , and said unto her , Weep not .

 

14. 가까이 오사 그 관에 손을 대시니 멘 자들이 서는지라 예수께서 가라사대 청년아 내가 네게 말하노니 일어나라 하시매

  And he came and touched the bier : and they that bare him stood still . And he said , Young man , I say unto thee , Arise .

 

15. 죽었던 자가 일어앉고 말도 하거늘 예수께서 그를 어미에게 주신대

  And he that was dead sat up , and began to speak . And he delivered him to his mother .

 

16. 모든 사람이 두려워하며 하나님께 영광을 돌려 가로되 큰 선지자가 우리 가운데 일어나셨다 하고 또 하나님께서 자기 백성을 돌아 보셨다 하더라

  And there came a fear on all : and they glorified God , saying , That a great prophet is risen up among us ; and , That God hath visited his people .

 

17. 예수께 대한 이 소문이 온 유대와 사방에 두루 퍼지니라

  And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judæa , and throughout all the region round about .

 

18. 요한의 제자들이 이 모든 일을 그에게 고하니

  And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things .

 

19. 요한이 그 제자 중 둘을 불러 주께 보내어 가로되 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이를 기다리오리이까 하라 하매

  And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus , saying , Art thou he that should come ? or look we for another ?

 

20. 저희가 예수께 나아가 가로되 침례 요한이 우리를 보내어 당신께 말하기를 오실 그이가 당신이오니이까 우리가 다른 이를 기다리오리이까 하더이다 하니

  When the men were come unto him , they said , John Baptist hath sent us unto thee , saying , Art thou he that should come ? or look we for another ?

 

21. 마침 그 시에 예수께서 질병과 고통과 및 악귀 들린 자를 많이 고치시며 또 많은 소경을 보게 하신지라

  And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues , and of evil spirits ; and unto many that were blind he gave sight .

 

22. 대답하여 가라사대 너희가 가서 보고 들은 것을 요한에게 고하되 소경이 보며 앉은뱅이가 걸으며 문둥이가 깨끗함을 받으며 귀머거리가 들으며 죽은 자가 살아나며 가난한 자에게 복음이 전파된다 하라

  Then Jesus answering said unto them , Go your way , and tell John what things ye have seen and heard ; how that the blind see , the lame walk , the lepers are cleansed , the deaf hear , the dead are raised , to the poor the gospel is preached .

 

23. 누구든지 나를 인하여 실족치 아니하는 자는 복이 있도다 하시니라

  And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me .

 

24. 요한의 보낸 자가 떠난 후에 예수께서 무리에게 요한에 대하여 말씀하시되 너희가 무엇을 보려고 광야에 나갔더냐 바람에 흔들리는 갈대냐

  And when the messengers of John were departed , he began to speak unto the people concerning John , What went ye out into the wilderness for to see ? A reed shaken with the wind ?

 

25. 그러면 너희가 무엇을 보려고 나갔더냐 부드러운 옷 입은 사람이냐 보라 화려한 옷 입고 사치하게 지내는 자는 왕궁에 있느니라

  But what went ye out for to see ? A man clothed in soft raiment ? Behold , they which are gorgeously apparelled , and live delicately , are in kings’ courts .

 

26. 그러면 너희가 무엇을 보려고 나갔더냐 선지자냐 옳다 내가 너희에게 이르노니 선지자보다도 나은 자니라

  But what went ye out for to see ? A prophet ? Yea , I say unto you , and much more than a prophet .

 

27. 기록된 바 보라 내가 내 사자를 네 앞에 보내노니 그가 네 앞에서 네 길을 예비하리라 한 것이 이 사람에 대한 말씀이라

  This is he, of whom it is written , Behold , I send my messenger before thy face , which shall prepare thy way before thee .

 

28. 내가 너희에게 말하노니 여자가 낳은 자 중에 요한보다 큰 이가 없도다 그러나 하나님의 나라에서는 극히 작은 자라도 저보다 크니라 하시니

  For I say unto you , Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist : but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he .

 

29. 모든 백성과 세리들은 이미 요한의 침례를 받은지라 이 말씀을 듣고 하나님을 의롭다 하되

  And all the people that heard him, and the publicans , justified God , being baptized with the baptism of John .

 

30. 오직 바리새인과 율법사들은 그 침례를 받지 아니한지라 스스로 하나님의 뜻을 저버리니라

  But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of God against themselves , being not baptized of him .

 

31. 또 가라사대 이 세대의 사람을 무엇으로 비유할꼬 무엇과 같은고

  And the Lord said , Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation ? and to what are they like ?

 

32. 비유컨대 아이들이 장터에 앉아 서로 불러 가로되 우리가 너희를 향하여 피리를 불어도 너희가 춤추지 않고 우리가 애곡을 하여도 너희가 울지 아니하였다 함과 같도다

  They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace , and calling one to another , and saying , We have piped unto you , and ye have not danced ; we have mourned to you , and ye have not wept .

 

33. 침례 요한이 와서 떡도 먹지 아니하며 포도주도 마시지 아니하매 너희 말이 귀신이 들렸다 하더니

  For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine ; and ye say , He hath a devil .

 

34. 인자는 와서 먹고 마시매 너희 말이 보라 먹기를 탐하고 포도주를 즐기는 사람이요 세리와 죄인의 친구로다 하니

  The Son of man is come eating and drinking ; and ye say , Behold a gluttonous man , and a winebibber , a friend of publicans and sinners !

 

35. 지혜는 자기의 모든 자녀로 인하여 옳다 함을 얻느니라

  But wisdom is justified of all her children .

 

36. 한 바리새인이 예수께 자기와 함께 잡수기를 청하니 이에 바리새인의 집에 들어가 앉으셨을 때에

  And one of the Pharisees desired him that he would eat with him . And he went into the Pharisee’s house , and sat down to meat .

 

37. 그 동네에 죄인인 한 여자가 있어 예수께서 바리새인의 집에 앉으셨음을 알고 향유 담은 옥합을 가지고 와서

  And , behold , a woman in the city , which was a sinner , when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house , brought an alabaster box of ointment ,

 

38. 예수의 뒤로 그 발 곁에 서서 울며 눈물로 그 발을 적시고 자기 머리털로 씻고 그 발에 입맞추고 향유를 부으니

  And stood at his feet behind him weeping , and began to wash his feet with tears , and did wipe them with the hairs of her head , and kissed his feet , and anointed them with the ointment .

 

39. 예수를 청한 바리새인이 이것을 보고 마음에 이르되 이 사람이 만일 선지자더면 자기를 만지는 이 여자가 누구며 어떠한 자 곧 죄인인 줄을 알았으리라 하거늘

  Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself , saying , This man , if he were a prophet , would have known who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him : for she is a sinner .

 

40. 예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 시몬아 내가 네게 이를 말이 있다 하시니 저가 가로되 선생님 말씀하소서

  And Jesus answering said unto him , Simon , I have somewhat to say unto thee . And he saith , Master , say on .

 

41. 가라사대 빚 주는 사람에게 빚진 자가 둘이 있어 하나는 오백 데나리온을 졌고 하나는 오십 데나리온을 졌는데

  There was a certain creditor which had two debtors : the one owed five hundred pence , and the other fifty .

 

42. 갚을 것이 없으므로 둘 다 탕감하여 주었으니 둘 중에 누가 저를 더 사랑하겠느냐

  And when they had nothing to pay , he frankly forgave them both . Tell me therefore , which of them will love him most ?

 

43. 시몬이 대답하여 가로되 제 생각에는 많이 탕감함을 받은 자니이다 가라사대 네 판단이 옳다 하시고

  Simon answered and said , I suppose that he, to whom he forgave most . And he said unto him , Thou hast rightly judged .

 

44. 여자를 돌아보시며 시몬에게 이르시되 이 여자를 보느냐 내가 네 집에 들어오매 너는 내게 발 씻을 물도 주지 아니하였으되 이 여자는 눈물로 내 발을 적시고 그 머리털로 씻었으며

  And he turned to the woman , and said unto Simon , Seest thou this woman ? I entered into thine house , thou gavest me no water for my feet : but she hath washed my feet with tears , and wiped them with the hairs of her head .

 

45. 너는 내게 입맞추지 아니하였으되 저는 내가 들어올 때로부터 내 발에 입맞추기를 그치지 아니하였으며

  Thou gavest me no kiss : but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet .

 

46. 너는 내 머리에 감람유도 붓지 아니하였으되 저는 향유를 내 발에 부었느니라

  My head with oil thou didst not anoint : but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment .

 

47. 이러므로 내가 네게 말하노니 저의 많은 죄가 사하여졌도다 이는 저의 사랑함이 많음이라 사함을 받은 일이 적은 자는 적게 사랑하느니라

  Wherefore I say unto thee , Her sins , which are many , are forgiven ; for she loved much : but to whom little is forgiven , the same loveth little .

 

48. 이에 여자에게 이르시되 네 죄사함을 얻었느니라 하시니

  And he said unto her , Thy sins are forgiven .

 

49. 함께 앉은 자들이 속으로 말하되 이가 누구이기에 죄도 사하는가 하더라

  And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves , Who is this that forgiveth sins also ?

 

50. 예수께서 여자에게 이르시되 네 믿음이 너를 구원하였으니 평안히 가라 하시니라

  And he said to the woman , Thy faith hath saved thee ; go in peace .

【눅7:1 JFB】Lu 7:1-10. Centurion's Servant Healed.

【눅7:1 MHCC】Servants should study to endear themselves to their masters. Masters ought to take particular care of their servants when they are sick. We may still, by faithful and fervent prayer, apply to Christ, and ought to do so when sickness is in our families. The building places for religious worship is a good work, and an instance of love to God and his people. Our Lord Jesus was pleased with the centurion's faith; and he never fails to answer the expectations of that faith which honours his power and love. The cure soon wrought and perfect.

 

【눅7:4 JFB】4. he was worthy—a testimony most precious, coming from those who probably were strangers to the principle from which he acted (전7:1).

 

【눅7:5 JFB】5. loved our nation—Having found that "salvation was of the Jews," he loved them for it.

11. Nain—a small village not elsewhere mentioned in Scripture, and only this once probably visited by our Lord; it lay a little to the south of Mount Tabor, about twelve miles from Capernaum.

 

【눅7:11 MHCC】When the Lord saw the poor widow following her son to the grave, he had compassion on her. See Christ's power over death itself. The gospel call to all people, to young people particularly, is, Arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light and life. When Christ put life into him, it appeared by the youth's sitting up. Have we grace from Christ? Let us show it. He began to speak: whenever Christ gives us spiritual life, he opens the lips in prayer and praise. When dead souls are raised to spiritual life, by Divine power going with the gospel, we must glorify God, and look upon it as a gracious visit to his people. Let us seek for such an interest in our compassionate Saviour, that we may look forward with joy to the time when the Redeemer's voice shall call forth all that are in their graves. May we be called to the resurrection of life, not to that of damnation.

 

【눅7:12 JFB】12. carried out—"was being carried out." Dead bodies, being ceremonially unclean, were not allowed to be buried within the cities (though the kings of David's house were buried m the city of David), and the funeral was usually on the same day as the death.
only son, &c.—affecting particulars, told with delightful simplicity.

 

【눅7:13 JFB】13. the Lord—"This sublime appellation is more usual with Luke and John than Matthew; Mark holds the mean" [Bengel].
saw her, he had compassion, &c.—What consolation to thousands of the bereaved has this single verse carried from age to age!

 

【눅7:14 JFB】14, 15. What mingled majesty and grace shines in this scene! The Resurrection and the Life in human flesh, with a word of command, bringing back life to the dead body; Incarnate Compassion summoning its absolute power to dry a widow's tears!

【눅7:19 MHCC】To his miracles in the kingdom of nature, Christ adds this in the kingdom of grace, To the poor the gospel is preached. It clearly pointed out the spiritual nature of Christ's kingdom, that the messenger he sent before him to prepare his way, did it by preaching repentance and reformation of heart and life. We have here the just blame of those who were not wrought upon by the ministry of John Baptist or of Jesus Christ himself. They made a jest of the methods God took to do them good. This is the ruin of multitudes; they are not serious in the concerns of their souls. Let us study to prove ourselves children of Wisdom, by attending the instructions of God's word, and adoring those mysteries and glad tidings which infidels and Pharisees deride and blaspheme.

 

【눅7:29 JFB】29, 30. And all the people that heard—"on hearing (this)." These are the observations of the Evangelist, not of our Lord.
and the publicans—a striking clause.
justified God, being baptized, &c.—rather, "having been baptized." The meaning is, They acknowledged the divine wisdom of such a preparatory ministry as John's, in leading them to Him who now spake to them (see Lu 1:16, 17); whereas the Pharisees and lawyers, true to themselves in refusing the baptism of John, set at naught also the merciful design of God in the Saviour Himself, to their own destruction.

 

【눅7:31 JFB】31-35. the Lord said, &c.—As cross, capricious children, invited by their playmates to join them in their amusements, will play with them neither at weddings nor funerals (juvenile imitations of the joyous and mournful scenes of life), so that generation rejected both John and his Master: the one because he was too unsocial—more like a demoniac than a rational man; the other, because He was too much the reverse, given to animal indulgences, and consorting with the lowest classes of society. But the children of Wisdom recognize and honor her, whether in the austere garb of the Baptist or in the more attractive style of his Master, whether in the Law or in the Gospel, whether in rags or in royalty, for "the full soul loatheth an honeycomb, but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet" (잠27:7).

 

【눅7:36 JFB】Lu 7:36-50. Christ's Feet Washed with Tears.

 

【눅7:36 MHCC】None can truly perceive how precious Christ is, and the glory of the gospel, except the broken-hearted. But while they feel they cannot enough express self-abhorrence on account of sin, and admiration of his mercy, the self-sufficient will be disgusted, because the gospel encourages such repenting sinners. The Pharisee, instead of rejoicing in the tokens of the woman's repentance, confined his thoughts to her former bad character. But without free forgiveness none of us can escape the wrath to come; this our gracious Saviour has purchased with his blood, that he may freely bestow it on every one that believes in him. Christ, by a parable, forced Simon to acknowledge that the greater sinner this woman had been, the greater love she ought to show to Him when her sins were pardoned. Learn here, that sin is a debt; and all are sinners, are debtors to Almighty God. Some sinners are greater debtors; but whether our debt be more or less, it is more than we are able to pay. God is ready to forgive; and his Son having purchased pardon for those who believe in him, his gospel promises it to them, and his Spirit seals it to repenting sinners, and gives them the comfort. Let us keep far from the proud spirit of the Pharisee, simply depending upon and rejoicing in Christ alone, and so be prepared to obey him more zealously, and more strongly to recommend him unto all around us. The more we express our sorrow for sin, and our love to Christ, the clearer evidence we have of the forgiveness of our sins. What a wonderful change does grace make upon a sinner's heart and life, as well as upon his state before God, by the full remission of all his sins through faith in the Lord Jesus!

 

【눅7:37 JFB】37, 38. a sinner—one who had led a profligate life. Note.—There is no ground whatever for the popular notion that this woman was Mary Magdalene, nor do we know what her name was. (See on Lu 8:2.)
an alabaster box of ointment—a perfume vessel, in some cases very costly (요12:5). "The ointment has here a peculiar interest, as the offering by a penitent of what had been an accessory in her unhallowed work of sin" [Alford].

 

【눅7:38 JFB】38. at his feet behind him—the posture at meals being a reclining one, with the feet out behind.
began to wash, &c.—to "water with a shower." The tears, which were quite involuntary, poured down in a flood upon His naked feet, as she bent down to kiss them; and deeming them rather fouled than washed by this, she hastened to wipe them off with the only towel she had, the long tresses of her own hair, "with which slaves were wont to wash their masters' feet" [Stier].
kissed—The word signifies "to kiss fondly, to caress," or to "kiss again and again," which Lu 7:45 shows is meant here. What prompted this? Much love, springing from a sense of much forgiveness. So says He who knew her heart (Lu 7:47). Where she had met with Christ before, or what words of His had brought life to her dead heart and a sense of divine pardon to her guilty soul, we know not. But probably she was of the crowd of "publicans and sinners" whom Incarnate Compassion drew so often around Him, and heard from His lips some of those words such as never man spake, "Come unto Me, all ye that labour," &c. No personal interview had up to this time taken place between them; but she could keep her feelings no longer to herself, and having found her way to Him (and entered along with him, Lu 7:45), they burst forth in this surpassing yet most artless style, as if her whole soul would go out to Him.

 

【눅7:39 JFB】39. the Pharisee—who had formed no definite opinion of our Lord, and invited Him apparently to obtain materials for a judgment.
spake within himself, &c.—"Ha! I have Him now; He plainly knows nothing of the person He allows to touch Him; and so, He can be no prophet." Not so fast, Simon; thou hast not seen through thy Guest yet, but He hath seen through thee.

 

【눅7:40 JFB】40-43. Like Nathan with David, our Lord conceals His home thrust under the veil of a parable, and makes His host himself pronounce upon the case. The two debtors are the woman and Simon; the criminality of the one was ten times that of the other (in the proportion of "five hundred" to "fifty"); but both being equally insolvent, both are with equal frankness forgiven; and Simon is made to own that the greatest debtor to forgiving mercy will cling to her Divine Benefactor with the deepest gratitude. Does our Lord then admit that Simon was a forgiving man? Let us see.

【눅7:45 JFB】45. no kiss—of salutation. How much love was here? Any at all?

 

【눅7:46 JFB】46. with oil … not anoint—even common olive oil in contrast with the woman's "ointment" or aromatic balsam. What evidence was thus afforded of any feeling which forgiveness prompts? Our Lord speaks this with delicate politeness, as if hurt at these inattentions of His host, which though not invariably shown to guests, were the customary marks of studied respect and regard. The inference is plain—only one of the debtors was really forgiven, though in the first instance, to give room for the play of withheld feelings, the forgiveness of both is supposed in the parable.

 

【눅7:47 JFB】47. Her sins which are many—"Those many sins of hers," our Lord, who admitted how much more she owed than the Pharisee, now proclaims in naked terms the forgiveness of her guilt.
for—not because, as if love were the cause of forgiveness, but "inasmuch as," or "in proof of which." The latter clause of the verse, and the whole structure of the parable, plainly show this to be the meaning.
little forgiven … loveth little—delicately ironical intimation of no love and no forgiveness in the present case.

 

【눅7:48 JFB】48. said unto her, &c.—an unsought assurance, usually springing up unexpected in the midst of active duty and warm affections, while often it flies from those who mope and are paralyzed for want of it.

 

【눅7:49 JFB】49, 50. they that sat … Who is this, &c.—No wonder they were startled to hear One who was reclining at the same couch, and partaking of the same hospitalities with themselves, assume the awful prerogative of "even forgiving sins." But so far from receding from this claim, or softening it down, our Lord only repeats it, with two precious additions: one, announcing what was the one secret of the "forgiveness" she had experienced, and which carried "salvation" in its bosom; the other, a glorious dismissal of her in that "peace" which she had already felt, but is now assured she has His full warrant to enjoy! This wonderful scene teaches two very weighty truths: (1) Though there be degrees of guilt, insolvency, or inability to wipe out the dishonor done to God, is common to all sinners. (2) As Christ is the Great Creditor to whom all debt, whether great or small, contracted by sinners is owing, so to Him belongs the prerogative of forgiving it. This latter truth is brought out in the structure and application of the present parable as it is nowhere else. Either then Jesus was a blaspheming deceiver, or He is God manifest in the flesh.

웹 브라우저 주소창에 'https://foreverorkr.tistory.com/pages/' 다음에 '창1' 처럼 성경 약자와 장 번호를 입력하면 해당 장으로 바로 이동할 수 있다. 상단의 '한글듣기'와 '영어듣기' 우측의 플레이 아이콘을 누르면 읽는 성경을 들으며 읽을 수 있다.(읽는 성경의 출처는 https://mp3bible.ca , https://www.wordproject.org 이다) 성경 번역본은 개역 한글과 킴제임스 버전(KJV)이다. 주석은 세 가지로 CWC는 Christian Workers' Commentary, MHCC는 Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary, JFB는 Commentary Critical and Explanatory on the Whole Bible을 의미한다.
