■ 에스겔 6장
1. 여호와의 말씀이 내게 임하여 가라사대
And the word of the Lord came unto me, saying ,
2. 인자야 너는 이스라엘 산을 향하여 그들에게 예언하여
Son of man , set thy face toward the mountains of Israel , and prophesy against them,
3. 이르기를 이스라엘 산들아 주 여호와의 말씀을 들으라 주 여호와께서 산과 작은 산과 시내와 골짜기를 대하여 말씀하시기를 나 곧 내가 칼로 너희에게 임하게 하여 너희 산당을 멸하리니
And say , Ye mountains of Israel , hear the word of the Lord God ; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains , and to the hills , to the rivers , and to the valleys ; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places .
4. 너희 제단이 황무하고 태양상이 훼파될 것이며 내가 또 너희 중에서 살륙을 당하여 너희 우상 앞에 엎드러지게 할 것이라
And your altars shall be desolate , and your images shall be broken : and I will cast down your slain men before your idols .
5. 이스라엘 자손의 시체를 그 우상 앞에 두며 너희 해골을 너희 제단 사방에 흩으리라
And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols ; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars .
6. 내가 너희 거하는 모든 성읍으로 사막이 되며 산당으로 황무하게 하리니 이는 너희 제단이 깨어지고 황폐하며 너희 우상들이 깨어져 없어지며 너희 태양상들이 찍히며 너희 만든 것이 다 폐하며
In all your dwellingplaces the cities shall be laid waste , and the high places shall be desolate ; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate , and your idols may be broken and cease , and your images may be cut down , and your works may be abolished .
7. 또 너희 중에서 살륙을 당하여 엎드러지게 하여 너희로 나를 여호와인 줄 알게 하려 함이니라
And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the Lord .
8. 그러나 너희가 열방에 흩어질 때에 내가 너희 중에서 칼을 피하여 이방 중에 남아 있는 자가 있게 할지라
Yet will I leave a remnant , that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations , when ye shall be scattered through the countries .
9. 너희 중 피한 자가 사로잡혀 이방인 중에 있어서 나를 기억하되 그들이 음란한 마음으로 나를 떠나고 음란한 눈으로 우상을 섬겨 나로 근심케 한 것을 기억하고 스스로 한탄하리니 이는 그 모든 가증한 일로 악을 행하였음이라
And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives , because I am broken with their whorish heart , which hath departed from me, and with their eyes , which go a whoring after their idols : and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations .
10. 그 때에야 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 내가 이런 재앙을 그들에게 내리겠다 한 말이 헛되지 아니하니라
And they shall know that I am the Lord , and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.
11. 주 여호와께서 가라사대 너는 손뼉을 치고 발을 구르며 말할지어다 오호라 이스라엘 족속이 모든 가증한 악을 행하므로 필경 칼과 기근과 온역에 망하되
Thus saith the Lord God ; Smite with thine hand , and stamp with thy foot , and say , Alas for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel ! for they shall fall by the sword , by the famine , and by the pestilence .
12. 먼데 있는 자는 온역에 죽고 가까운데 있는 자는 칼에 엎드러지고 남아 있어 에워싸인 자는 기근에 죽으리라 이같이 내 진노를 그들에게 이룬즉
He that is far off shall die of the pestilence ; and he that is near shall fall by the sword ; and he that remaineth and is besieged shall die by the famine : thus will I accomplish my fury upon them.
13. 그 살륙 당한 시체가 그 우상 사이에, 제단 사방에, 각 높은 고개에, 모든 산꼭대기에, 모든 푸른 나무 아래에, 무성한 상수리나무 아래 곧 그 우상에게 분향하던 곳에 있으리니 너희가 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
Then shall ye know that I am the Lord , when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars , upon every high hill , in all the tops of the mountains , and under every green tree , and under every thick oak , the place where they did offer sweet savour to all their idols .
14. 내가 내 손을 그들의 위에 펴서 그 거하는 온 땅 곧 광야에서부터 디블라까지 처량하고 황무하게 하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
So will I stretch out my hand upon them, and make the land desolate , yea, more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath , in all their habitations : and they shall know that I am the Lord .

【겔6:1 CWC】[SECOND VISION OF GLORY AND ITS RESULT]
Remember that in the first part of this book, chapters 1-24, we are dealing with prophecies before the siege of Jerusalem and foretelling its overthrow.
The present lesson begins at verse 22 of chapter 3. (Compare verse 23 with 1:1, and verse 24 with 2:2 and 행2:4 and 4:31.) Verse 25 is to be taken figuratively. (Compare 고후6:11, 12.) The same is true of verse 26, which means that as Israel had rejected the words of the prophets hitherto, the time had now come when God would deprive them of those words for the time being at least (삼상7:2; 암8:11, 12).
The Sign of the Tile. Chapter 4.
This sign (1-3) and those that follow immediately, were symbolic testimonies to the wickedness of the nation as well as prophetic of the coming siege. It is common to say that these things were performed in vision and not in external action, but we can hardly be sure of that. At all events the tile represents that God has set a wall of separation between Him and the nation, that can not be forced through. The second action, lying first on one side and then the other, (4-8) supplements the first. The third, eating the coarse and polluted bread, and by weight, is explained in the closing verses of the chapter (verses 16, 17). (Compare 렘52:6.) As to verse 12, the Arabs use beasts' dung for fuel, as wood is scarce, but to use that of man implies the most awful need. As to do so was in violation of the Mosaic law (신14:3; 23: 12-14), the command to the prophet, symbolized that now God's people were, as a judicial punishment, to be outwardly blended with the heathen (신28:68; 호9:3).
The Sign of the Hair. Chapters 5-7.
This symbol (verses 1-4) is explained in the rest of the chapter. The "knife" or "razor" was the sword of the enemy which God would use. The whole hair being shaven was a sign of humiliation (삼하10:4, 5). "Balances" expresses God's discrimination in the coming judgments. The "hairs" are the people in this case. One third was to be killed, another destroyed by famine and pestilence, and the remainder scattered among the Gentiles. The few to escape were symbolized by the hairs bound in Ezekiel's skirts, and even of these some were to pass a further ordeal (verses 3, 4). Compare these last-named verses with the story of the remnant in Jerusalem in Jeremiah 40-44.
Chapters 6 and 7 are a continuation of the subject of chapter 5, which our familiarity with the prophets preceding will simplify for us. The first of these may be divided into three parts. Verses 1-7 contain a message against Israel; verses 8-10, speak of that "remnant" which God always promised to spare because of their repentance, while the rest of the chapter, and the whole of chapter 7, is filled with the desolations God shall sent upon the land for its iniquity.

겔6:1-7. War desolates persons, places, and things esteemed most sacred. God ruins idolatries even by the hands of idolaters. It is just with God to make that a desolation, which we make an idol. The superstitions to which many trust for safety, often cause their ruin. And the day is at hand, when idols and idolatry will be as thoroughly destroyed from the professedly Christian church as they were from among the Jews.
겔6:8-10 A remnant of Israel should be left; at length they should remember the Lord, their obligations to him, and rebellion against him. True penitents see sin to be that abominable thing which the Lord hates. Those who truly loathe sin, loathe themselves because of sin. They give glory to God by their repentance. Whatever brings men to remember Him, and their sins against him, should be regarded as a blessing.
겔6:11-14 It is our duty to be affected, not only with our own sins and sufferings, but to look with compassion upon the miseries wicked people bring upon themselves. Sin is a desolating thing; therefore, stand in awe, and sin not. If we know the worth of souls, and the danger to which unbelievers are exposed, we shall deem every sinner who takes refuge in Jesus from the wrath to come, an abundant recompence for all contempt or opposition we may meet with.
【겔6:2 JFB】2. mountains of Israel—that is, of Palestine in general. The mountains are addressed by personification; implying that the Israelites themselves are incurable and unworthy of any more appeals; so the prophet sent to Jeroboam did not deign to address the king, but addressed the altar (왕상13:2). The mountains are specified as being the scene of Jewish idolatries on "the high places" (겔6:3; 레26:30).
【겔6:3 JFB】3. rivers—literally, the "channels" of torrents. Rivers were often the scene and objects of idolatrous worship.
【겔6:4 JFB】4. images—called so from a Hebrew root, "to wax hot," implying the mad ardor of Israel after idolatry [Calvin]. Others translate it, "sun images"; and so in 겔6:6 (see 왕하23:11; 대하34:4; 사17:8, Margin).
cast your slain men before your idols—The foolish objects of their trust in the day of evil should witness their ruin.
【겔6:5 JFB】5. carcasses … before … idols—polluting thus with the dead bones of you, the worshippers, the idols which seemed to you so sacrosanct.
【겔6:6 JFB】6. your works—not gods, as you supposed, but the mere work of men's hands (사40:18-20).
【겔6:7 JFB】7. ye shall know that I am the Lord—and not your idols, lords. Ye shall know Me as the all-powerful Punisher of sin.
【겔6:8 JFB】8. Mitigation of the extreme severity of their punishment; still their life shall be a wretched one, and linked with exile (겔5:2, 12; 12:16; 14:22; 렘44:28).
【겔6:9 JFB】9. they that escape of you shall remember me—The object of God's chastisements shall at last be effected by working in them true contrition. This partially took place in the complete eradication of idolatry from the Jews ever since the Babylonian captivity. But they have yet to repent of their crowning sin, the crucifixion of Messiah; their full repentance is therefore future, after the ordeal of trials for many centuries, ending with that foretold in Z전10:9; 13:8, 9; 14:1-4, 11. "They shall remember me in far countries" (겔7:16; 신30:1-8).
I am broken with their whorish heart—Fairbairn translates, actively, "I will break" their whorish heart; English Version is better. In their exile they shall remember how long I bore with them, but was at last compelled to punish, after I was "broken" (My long-suffering wearied out) by their desperate (민15:39) spiritual whorishness [Calvin], (시78:40; 사7:13; 43:24; 63:10).
loathe themselves—(레26:39-45; 욥42:6). They shall not wait for men to condemn them but shall condemn themselves (겔20:43; 36:31; 욥42:6; 고전11:31).
【겔6:11 JFB】11. Gesticulations vividly setting before the hearers the greatness of the calamity about to be inflicted. In indignation at the abominations of Israel extend thine hand towards Judea, as if about to "strike," and "stamp," shaking off the dust with thy foot, in token of how God shall "stretch out His hand upon them," and tread them down (겔6:14; 겔21:14).
【겔6:12 JFB】12. He that is far off—namely, from the foe; those who in a distant exile fear no evil.
he that remaineth—he that is left in the city; not carried away into captivity, nor having escaped into the country. Distinct from "he that is near," namely, those outside the city who are within reach of "the sword" of the foe, and so fall by it; not by "famine," as those left in the city.
