■ 에스겔 30장
1. 여호와의 말씀이 또 내게 임하여 가라사대
The word of the Lord came again unto me, saying ,
2. 인자야 너는 예언하여 이르라 주 여호와의 말씀에 너희는 통곡하며 이르기를 슬프다 이 날이여 하라
Son of man , prophesy and say , Thus saith the Lord God ; Howl ye, Woe worth the day !
3. 그 날이 가까웠도다 여호와의 날이 가까웠도다 구름의 날일 것이요 열국의 때이리로다
For the day is near , even the day of the Lord is near , a cloudy day ; it shall be the time of the heathen .
4. 애굽에 칼이 임할 것이라 애굽에서 살륙 당한 자들이 엎드러질 때에 구스에 심한 근심이 있을 것이며 애굽의 무리가 옮기우며 그 기지가 헐릴 것이요
And the sword shall come upon Egypt , and great pain shall be in Ethiopia , when the slain shall fall in Egypt , and they shall take away her multitude , and her foundations shall be broken down .

5. 구스와 붓과 룻과 모든 섞인 백성과 굽과 및 동맹한 땅의 백성들이 그들과 함께 칼에 엎드러지리라
Ethiopia , and Libya , and Lydia , and all the mingled people, and Chub , and the men of the land that is in league , shall fall with them by the sword .
6. 나 여호와가 말하노라 애굽을 붙들어 주는 자도 엎드러질 것이요 애굽의 교만한 권세도 낮아질 것이라 믹돌에서부터 수에네까지 무리가 그 가운데서 칼에 엎드러지리라 나 주 여호와의 말이니라
Thus saith the Lord ; They also that uphold Egypt shall fall ; and the pride of her power shall come down : from the tower of Syene shall they fall in it by the sword , saith the Lord God .
7. 황무한 열방 같이 그들도 황무할 것이며 사막이 된 성읍들 같이 그 성읍들도 사막이 될 것이라
And they shall be desolate in the midst of the countries that are desolate , and her cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are wasted .
8. 내가 애굽에 불을 일으키며 그 모든 돕는 자를 멸할 때에 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
And they shall know that I am the Lord , when I have set a fire in Egypt , and when all her helpers shall be destroyed .
9. 그 날에 사자들이 내 앞에서 배로 나아가서 염려 없는 구스 사람을 두렵게 하리니 애굽의 재앙의 날과 같이 그들에게도 심한 근심이 있으리라 이것이 오리로다
In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid , and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt : for, lo, it cometh .

Thus saith the Lord God ; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon .
11. 그가 열국 중에 강포한 자기 군대를 거느리고 와서 그 땅을 멸할 때에 칼을 빼어 애굽을 쳐서 살륙 당한 자로 땅에 가득하게 하리라
He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations , shall be brought to destroy the land : and they shall draw their swords against Egypt , and fill the land with the slain .
12. 내가 그 모든 강을 말리우고 그 땅을 악인의 손에 팔겠으며 타국 사람의 손으로 그 땅과 그 가운데 있는 모든 것을 황무케 하리라 나 여호와의 말이니라
And I will make the rivers dry , and sell the land into the hand of the wicked : and I will make the land waste , and all that is therein , by the hand of strangers : I the Lord have spoken it.
13. 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 그 우상들을 멸하며 신상들을 놉 가운데서 끊으며 애굽 땅에서 왕이 다시 나지 못하게 하고 그 땅에 두려움이 있게 하리라
Thus saith the Lord God ; I will also destroy the idols , and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph ; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt : and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt .
14. 내가 바드로스를 황무케 하며 소안에 불을 일으키며 노를 국문하며
And I will make Pathros desolate , and will set fire in Zoan , and will execute judgments in No .
15. 내 분노를 애굽의 견고한 성 신에 쏟고 또 노의 무리를 끊을 것이라
And I will pour my fury upon Sin , the strength of Egypt ; and I will cut off the multitude of No .
16. 내가 애굽에 불을 일으키리니 신이 심히 근심할 것이며 노는 찢어 나뉠 것이며 놉은 날로 대적이 있을 것이며
And I will set fire in Egypt : Sin shall have great pain , and No shall be rent asunder , and Noph shall have distresses daily .
17. 아웬과 비베셋의 소년들은 칼에 엎드러질 것이며 그 성읍 거민들은 포로될 것이라
The young men of Aven and of Pi–beseth shall fall by the sword : and these cities shall go into captivity .
18. 내가 애굽 멍에를 꺾으며 그 교만한 권세를 그 가운데서 그치게 할 때에 드합느헤스에서는 날이 어둡겠고 그 성읍에는 구름이 덮일 것이며 그 딸들은 포로 될 것이라
At Tehaphnehes also the day shall be darkened , when I shall break there the yokes of Egypt : and the pomp of her strength shall cease in her : as for her, a cloud shall cover her, and her daughters shall go into captivity .
19. 이와 같이 내가 애굽을 국문하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라 하셨다 하라
Thus will I execute judgments in Egypt : and they shall know that I am the Lord .
20. 제십일년 정월 칠일에 여호와의 말씀이 네게 임하여 가라사대
And it came to pass in the eleventh year , in the first month, in the seventh day of the month , that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying ,
21. 인자야 내가 애굽 왕 바로의 팔을 꺾었더니 칼을 잡을 힘이 있도록 그것을 그저 싸매지도 못하였고 약을 붙여 싸매지도 못하였느니라
Son of man , I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt ; and, lo, it shall not be bound up to be healed , to put a roller to bind it, to make it strong to hold the sword .
22. 그러므로 나 주 여호와가 말하노라 내가 애굽 왕 바로를 대적하여 그 두 팔 곧 성한 팔과 이미 꺾인 팔을 꺾어서 칼이 그 손에서 떨어지게 하고
Therefore thus saith the Lord God ; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt , and will break his arms , the strong , and that which was broken ; and I will cause the sword to fall out of his hand .
23. 애굽 사람을 열국 가운데로 흩으며 열방 가운데로 헤칠지라
And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations , and will disperse them through the countries .
24. 내가 바벨론 왕의 팔을 견고하게 하고 내 칼을 그 손에 붙이려니와 내가 바로의 팔을 꺾으리니 그가 바벨론 왕의 앞에서 고통하기를 죽게 상한 자의 고통하듯 하리라
And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon , and put my sword in his hand : but I will break Pharaoh’s arms , and he shall groan before him with the groanings of a deadly wounded man.
25. 내가 바벨론 왕의 팔은 들어주고 바로의 팔은 떨어뜨릴 것이라 내가 내 칼을 바벨론 왕의 손에 붙이고 그로 들어 애굽 땅을 치게 하리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알겠고
But I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon , and the arms of Pharaoh shall fall down ; and they shall know that I am the Lord , when I shall put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon , and he shall stretch it out upon the land of Egypt .
26. 내가 애굽 사람을 열국 가운데로 흩으며 열방 가운데로 헤치리니 그들이 나를 여호와인 줄 알리라
And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations , and disperse them among the countries ; and they shall know that I am the Lord .

【겔30:1 JFB】겔30:1-26. Continuation of the Prophecies against Egypt.
Two distinct messages: (1) At 겔30:1-19, a repetition of 겔29:1-16, with fuller details of lifelike distinctness. The date is probably not long after that mentioned in 겔29:17, on the eve of Nebuchadnezzar's march against Egypt after subjugating Tyre. (2) A vision relating directly to Pharaoh and the overthrow of his kingdom; communicated at an earlier date, the seventh of the first month of the eleventh year. Not a year after the date in 겔29:1, and three months before the taking of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar.
【겔30:1 CWC】[JUDGMENTS ON THE GENTILE NATIONS]
The prophet's "dumbness" enjoined in the last chapter, was only towards Hs own people, and the interval was employed in messages touching the Gentiles. These nations might have many charges laid against them but that which concerned a Prophet of Israel chiefly was their treatment of that nation -- see this borne out by the text. Their ruin was to be utter to the end while that of Israel was but temporary.
Seven nations are denounced, "the perfect number, implying that God's judgments would visit not merely these but the whole round of the Gentile world." Babylon is excepted here because she is, for the present, viewed as the rod of God's justice against Israel.
Use the marginal notes of your Bible for light on, the historical references, and the maps for geographical data. A Bible dictionary also would be of much assistance.
"Men of the east" (24:4) means the nomadic tribes beyond the Jordan.
The following from the Scofield Bible recalls earlier teachings. of this commentary: "The prophecies upon Gentile powers (in these chapters) have had partial fulfillments of which history bears witness, but the mention of the 'Day of the Lord' (30:3), makes it evident that a fulfillment in the final sense is still future. These countries are once more to be the battle-ground of the nations."
Tyre. 26-28.
In the first of these chapters we have Tyre's sin (1, 2), her doom and the instruments of its execution (3-14), and the effect of her downfall on the other nations (15-21). In the second, we have a lamentation over the loss of such earthly splendor, and in the third, an elegy addressed to the king on the humiliation of his sacrilegious pride. This last is the most important chapter of the three.
As to the destruction of Tyre, secular history shows how accurately God s word has come to pass. Though thou be sought for, yet shall thou never be found again" (21). This is not to say that there should be no more a lyre, but that there should be no more the Tyre that once was. As a matter of fact there were two Tyres in Ezekiel's time, old Tyre and new Tyre, the first on the main land and the other out in the sea; and as to the first not a vestige of it was left.
Passing over the "lamentation" attention is called to the description of the king of Tyre (28:1-19), which should be read in connection with that of the king of Babylon in Isaiah 14. The comment in that case fits this also, for although these verses are referring to the king of Tyre then reigning, Ithbaal II yet they have evidently an ulterior and fuller accomplishment in Satan, or in his earthly embodiment the beast, or the Antichrist, of 단7:25, 11:36, 37; 살후2:4, and 계13:6. There are many expressions in the chapter which baffle our understanding at present.
Egypt. 29-32.
It should be remembered that "Pharaoh" was a common name of all the kings of Egypt, meaning, as some say "the sun," others, "a crocodile, which was an object of worship by Egyptians. That nation was very prosperous and proud at this period, and no human sagacity could have foreseen its downfall as Ezekiel describes it, and as it came to pass, God's instrument was Babylon (29:19; 30:10), whose work is figuratively set forth in verses 4-12, of which 6 and 7 refer to the false confidence Israel reposed in Egypt during the siege and which was recorded in Isaiah and Jeremiah. Note verses 13-15 in the light of the subsequent history of Egypt, and compare them with the promise to Israel (21). God's covenant with the latter holds good, notwithstanding for the present she is dealt with like the Gentiles. "In that day" means in the fullest sense, the coming Day of the Lord.
Reaching chapter 30 we find two messages, the first (1-19), a repetition with details, of that in 29:1-16; and the second, a vision more particularly against Pharaoh himself.
"Heathen" (3) should be "nations," from which it will be seen that "the judgment on Egypt is the beginning of a world-wide judgment on all the Gentile people considered as God's enemies." "No more a prince of the land of Egypt" (13), means, no more an independent prince ruling the whole country.
Chapter 31 illustrates the overthrow of Egypt by that of Assyria, for although the former was not utterly to cease to be as in the case of the latter, yet it was to lose its prominence as an aspirant for world-dominion. Assyria was overthrown by the Chaldeans or Babylonians, and so Egypt would be.
Chapter 32 includes two lamentations rather than one, a fortnight apart in time, and divided at verse 17. Verse 7 may refer figuratively to the political sky, and yet the thought of supernatural darkness as formerly in 출10:21-23 is not excluded. The second lamentation accompanies Egypt in imagination to the unseen world where she shares the fate of other nations (18 et seq.).

겔30:1-19 The prophecy of the destruction of Egypt is very full. Those who take their lot with God's enemies, shall be with them in punishment. The king of Babylon and his army shall be instruments of this destruction. God often makes one wicked man a scourge to another. No place in the land of Egypt shall escape the fury of the Chaldeans. The Lord is known by the judgments he executes. Yet these are only present effects of the Divine displeasure, not worthy of our fear, compared with the wrath to come, from which Jesus delivers his people.
겔30:20-26 Egypt shall grow weaker and weaker. If lesser judgments do not prevail to humble and reform sinners, God will send greater. God justly breaks that power which is abused, either to put wrongs upon people, or to put cheats upon them. Babylon shall grow stronger. In vain do men endeavour to bind up the arm the Lord is pleased to break, and to strengthen those whom he will bring down. Those who disregard the discoveries of his truth and mercy, shall know his power and justice, in the punishment for their sins.

【겔30:3 JFB】3. the time of the heathen—namely, for taking vengeance on them. The judgment on Egypt is the beginning of a world-wide judgment on all the heathen enemies of God (Joe 1:15; 2:1, 2; 3:1-21; Ob 15).
【겔30:4 JFB】4. pain—literally, "pangs with trembling as of a woman in childbirth."
【겔30:5 JFB】5. the mingled people—the mercenary troops of Egypt from various lands, mostly from the interior of Africa (compare 겔27:10; 렘25:20, 24; 46:9, 21).
Chub—the people named Kufa on the monuments [Havernick], a people considerably north of Palestine [Wilkinson]; Coba or Chobat, a city of Mauritania [Maurer].
men of the land that is in league—too definite an expression to mean merely, "men in league" with Egypt; rather, "sons of the land of the covenant," that is, the Jews who migrated to Egypt and carried Jeremiah with them (렘42:1-44:30). Even they shall not escape (렘42:22; 44:14).

【겔30:9 JFB】9. messengers … in ships to … Ethiopians—(사18:1, 2). The cataracts interposing between them and Egypt should not save them. Egyptians "fleeing from before Me" in My execution of judgment, as "messengers" in "skiffs" ("vessels of bulrushes," 사18:2) shall go up the Nile as far as navigable, to announce the advance of the Chaldeans.
as in the day of Egypt—The day of Ethiopia's "pain" shall come shortly, as Egypt's day came.

【겔30:12 JFB】12. rivers—the artificial canals made from the Nile for irrigation. The drying up of these would cause scarcity of grain, and so prepare the way for the invaders (사19:5-10).
【겔30:13 JFB】13. Noph—Memphis, the capital of Middle Egypt, and the stronghold of "idols." Though no record exists of Nebuchadnezzar's "destroying" these, we know from Herodotus and others, that Cambyses took Pelusium, the key of Egypt, by placing before his army dogs, cats, &c., all held sacred in Egypt, so that no Egyptian would use any weapon against them. He slew Apis, the sacred ox, and burnt other idols of Egypt.
no more a prince—referring to the anarchy that prevailed in the civil wars between Apries and Amasis at the time of Nebuchadnezzar's invasion. There shall no more be a prince of the land of Egypt, ruling the whole country; or, no independent prince.
【겔30:14 JFB】14. Pathros—Upper Egypt, with "No" or Thebes its capital (famed for its stupendous buildings, of which grand ruins remain), in antithesis to Zoan or Tanis, a chief city in Lower Egypt, within the Delta.
【겔30:15 JFB】15. Sin—that is, Pelusium, the frontier fortress on the northeast, therefore called "the strength (that is, the key) of Egypt." It stands in antithesis to No or Thebes at the opposite end of Egypt; that is, I will afflict Egypt from one end to the other.
【겔30:16 JFB】16. distresses daily—Maurer translates, "enemies during the day," that is, open enemies who do not wait for the covert of night to make their attacks (compare 렘6:4; 15:8). However, the Hebrew, though rarely, is sometimes rendered (see 시13:2) as in English Version.
【겔30:17 JFB】17. Aven—meaning "vanity" or "iniquity": applied, by a slight change of the Hebrew name, to On or Heliopolis, in allusion to its idolatry. Here stood the temple of the sun, whence it was called in Hebrew, Beth-shemesh (렘43:13). The Egyptian hieroglyphics call it, Re Athom, the sun, the father of the gods, being impersonate in Athom or Adam, the father of mankind.
Pi-beseth—that is, Bubastis, in Lower Egypt, near the Pelusiac branch of the Nile: notorious for the worship of the goddess of the same name (Coptic, Pasht), the granite stones of whose temple still attest its former magnificence.
these cities—rather, as the Septuagint, "the women," namely, of Aven and Pi-beseth, in antithesis to "the young men." So in 겔30:18, "daughters shall go into captivity" [Maurer].
【겔30:18 JFB】18. Tehaphnehes—called from the queen of Egypt mentioned in 왕상11:19. The same as Daphne, near Pelusium, a royal residence of the Pharaohs (렘43:7, 9). Called Hanes (사30:4).
break … the yokes of Egypt—that is, the tyrannical supremacy which she exercised over other nations. Compare "bands of their yoke" (겔34:7).
a cloud—namely, of calamity.
【겔30:20 JFB】20. Here begins the earlier vision, not long after that in the twenty-ninth chapter, about three months before the taking of Jerusalem, as to Pharaoh and his kingdom.
【겔30:21 JFB】21. broken … arm of Pharaoh—(시37:17; 렘48:25). Referring to the defeat which Pharaoh-hophra sustained from the Chaldeans, when trying to raise the siege of Jerusalem (렘37:5, 7); and previous to the deprivation of Pharaoh-necho of all his conquests from the river of Egypt to the Euphrates (왕하24:7; 렘46:2); also to the Egyptian disaster in Cyrene.
【겔30:22 JFB】22. arms—Not only the "one arm" broken already (겔30:21) was not to be healed, but the other two should be broken. Not a corporal wound, but a breaking of the power of Pharaoh is intended.
cause … sword to fall out of … hand—deprive him of the resources of making war.
